Not quite the monster they wanted, it hovers between the i7 920 and i5 2500k in these tests, with a few ventures towards the i7 2600k. But definitely not bad. I wonder whether AMD will make 10 cores or a seriously updated version of Bulldozer next?

The i5 2500 is still faster than the top bulldozer and cheaper

Whoa, 12 cores... that's server level on a home PC. I bet it will only just be enough to best the i7 2600k though.
