My new motherboard has two 4 pin 12V EATX sockets. One has a removable cover on. My power supply has 2 seperate 4 pin CPU connectors labelled CPU 1 and CPU 2 (Not the 20+4 main power connector). do I connect both plugs or just 1??????

CPU is a core Duo E8400

Motherboard is a P5E X38 (basically a no frills maximus) thanks for the link.

Connecting both wont do any harm regardless. BUT if overclocking, installing lots of RAM or High power graphics or crossfire/SLI it makes the system more stable .

Picking a 9800 GTX + up from Aria before weekend then system is complete.

if it has 2 sockets id connect it to be safe you dont want to under power ur system
